Pros
- Class-leading adaptive ANC powered by the new QN3 processor
- LDAC + AAC + LC3 codec support — hi-res streaming and Auracast-ready
- Up to 30 hours with ANC on, plus 3-min quick charge for 3 hours
- Foldable design returns (XM5 wasn't) — much more travel-friendly
- Detachable 3.5mm cable for wired hi-res playback
- Sound Connect app gives 10-band EQ, modes and ear-tip personalisation
- Excellent build with premium feel, recognised Sony tuning
Cons
- Mic / call quality is a recurring complaint in recent India reviews
- Some users find earcups small and uncomfortable after 2+ hours
- Sound signature is only a modest step up from the XM5 — XM4/XM5 owners may not feel the upgrade
- Premium pricing at ₹40K is steep when the XM5 sells around ₹29K

Our Verdict
The XM6 is the most capable noise-cancelling headphone in India right now. ANC and battery life are class-leading, the foldable design fixes the XM5's biggest miss, and Sony's app gives you the most tuning control of any brand. The only friction points are mic quality (hit-or-miss for calls) and the steep ₹40K price tag when the XM5 delivers 90% of the experience for ₹10K less.
