We looked at 55 window AC listings on Amazon India and shortlisted 12. To keep the list varied, we then kept the best-scoring model from each brand. That leaves 8. For each one, we read the BEE label, the spec sheet and the recent verified India reviews. Then we split real product faults from delivery and installation complaints.

Based on spec sheets, 2026 BEE labels and the verified India reviews we analysed.
The share of 1-2 star reviews from recent verified India buyers. Product faults count in full. Service and delivery complaints count for less. A model with few reviews is pulled toward the field average until its record grows.
Ranked on ISEER from the 2026 BEE label. ISEER compares fairly across sizes, unlike raw annual units. For window ACs it runs from about 3.1 to 3.9, well below split ACs.
Rated cooling in kW against the tonnage on the box. We also credit the highest outdoor temperature the maker says the unit can run at. Labels like turbo or top-throw earn nothing here.
Years of comprehensive cover count most, then compressor years and separate PCB cover. Paid extensions do not count. Where a listing states two terms, we score the lower one.
Convertible modes, filter grade, a published stabilizer-free voltage range and self-diagnosis. A feature that is not on the listing counts as absent.

On paper, the LG has the strongest cooling spec for its size. It is also the cheapest pick here. Owner reports are the problem. Four of seven verified India buyers were unhappy, and two got units that did not work on arrival. The sample is small, but that rate is a real concern. Buy it only from a seller with an easy return.
Running Cost: What Each Window AC Costs to Run
Seven of the eight ACs list a yearly figure. They use 1,023 to 1,138 units a year. At ₹8 a unit, the Panasonic saves about ₹917 a year over the Sharp. Over five summers that is about ₹4,585. Godrej lists only its ISEER, so we cannot work out its cost.
